If you have a basement, that is the best place to be during a tornado. If you do not have a basement, you can consider your bath tub for various safety reasons. If you are stuck in the car, you always want to try and find the nearest shelter or ditch if you are in the middle of no where. You just basically have to use your common sense when it comes to protecting yourself, as well as your family. There are many alternatives that you can take for every situation. You definitely do not have to suffer. Tornadoes are very dangerous, and they can also be deadly. If you feel that you have enough time to evacuate before the tornado, you can do so.
